We are open Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm during Term Time.
Our preschool sessions run from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We ask that each child attends a minimum of two sessions per week, ideally on consecutive days. This helps us provide them with the strongest educational foundations and supports the development of a secure bond with their Key Worker. Collection begins from 2:40pm, with all children leaving by 3:00pm.

Free Play
Children enjoy a ‘free-flow’ environment where they choose from a wide range of educational activities. These include painting, drawing, multi-sensory tuff trays, creative tasks, playdough, construction toys, small world play, role play, a book corner, puzzles and more. Small group sessions are incorporated to support educational games, conversation and targeted learning. Outdoor provision features sand and water play, a mud kitchen, bricks, a builders’ yard, cars, bikes, scooters and much more. We make full use of our outdoor environment, including our Forest School area, as well as regular visits to the library, local shops and our allotment.
Teaching Time
We begin each day by gathering on the carpet to sing our welcome song, take the register and introduce the weekly topic chosen by the children. Our topics are thoughtfully planned to cover all areas of our curriculum, with a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy.
Early Learners develop early number concepts alongside speaking and listening skills. Preschool children continue this progression through daily ELS phonics sessions and activities designed to build and strengthen their numeracy skills.
We also deliver targeted intervention groups for individuals or small groups according to their needs—whether in speech and language, social and emotional development, early literacy and numeracy, or gross and fine motor skills.
Each week, every child works with their Key Worker on their individual Next Steps. These are shared with parents in a detailed Tapestry post. Families also receive daily Tapestry updates showcasing our planned activities, learning explanations, snack information and our afternoon adventures.

Story Time
Children gather together to enjoy a story read by the teacher. Bringing stories to life is a vital part of supporting children as readers, sparking curiosity and helping them connect reading to the world around them. We hold our story time in the middle of the day so it remains a special and unhurried experience.
Lunch Time
Lunchtime is a valued social moment where staff and children sit together to share food and conversation. We encourage independence, good table manners, healthy choices and positive eating habits.
PE, Music and Movement
Our afternoons feature a variety of activities, including singing, musical instruments, games, dance, gymnastics, yoga and parachute play. PE sessions are held weekly in our beautiful main hall. We believe in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle from an early age.
Forest School
One of the highlights of our week is visiting our Forest School area with Mrs Fisher, our Level 3 Forest School Lead. We explore in all weathers—rain or shine—and enjoy rich learning experiences outdoors. Hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows and biscuits are often part of the fun and are always a favourite with both children and staff!
